We know the little jitters you may have for Valentines’ Day especially for those who is spending their first with that special someone. Or, there are those of you who have probably spent 5, 10 or even 20 years of valentine’s day already. Nonetheless, for a successful Valentines date, here are some of the things you must do no matter what:
#1 Wear a Smile
I know a lot of you out there are always worried about what to wear, how should I dress up for today etc. Definitely, dressing up for a dinner would be something special for some of us. But we cannot stress enough that ultimately, it is about being comfortable in your skin and be confident of who you are. Don’t wear something that is going to make you feel awkward or out of place – the last thing you’d want is to spend the evening worrying about how you look. You should be enjoying the presence of your partner and having a good time!
You deserve to be loved just the way you are and if your date doesn’t buy it, it’s his loss. Simply relax, be yourself and have fun on your date!
#2 Plan your Date
When we say plan, we don’t mean that it has to be something extravagant and extraordinary. Really, it boils down to using some time to think about what would make both of you happy today. A special dinner date outside can make her feel special and important, but so could be doing yoga with her when you usually don’t (doing something with her that she likes to do). Or walk down the memory lane together with some photos and write down what you guys did then, make it into a game for each other to guess!
For the boys out there, it is really the thought and effort that counts. Let your creativity shine. Also consider writing your heart felt words you don’t usually tell your partner on a card.
#3 Making your Meal Different – for us foodies whose dates center around food
For one, cooking could be something simple, but really special. A change for the usual ‘eating out’ plans. As the saying goes, the way into a man’s heart is through his stomach, and nothing beats home cooked food filled with love. You may be surprised by how much you’d enjoy it.
Alternatively, you can book a new restaurant that the two of you have never visited before or a place that holds a special meaning for the both of you. For example, the restaurant the two of you visited for your first date.
#4 Sleep early at the night before
Having enough sleep improves your mood physically and spiritually. Beauty sleep helps the your skin to glow better too!
Next, allow yourself to be fully immersed in your valentines date.
Lastly, with the positive vibes brought to you from the sufficient sleep, you will be more lively and it brings up the overall mood of the date, making the time spent together more enjoyable.
#5 Relax your Mind and Body
Building on the previous point, it is important to relax your mind and body. Being so caught up with our hectic schedules and all the mind boogling duties we have everyday, take some time for yourself first so you can continue to give your best everday – and to your partner on your special date. Consider meditation or a good spa session. A spa session can really help to remove the tension from your mind and body. Close your eyes. Imagine taking a deep breath to our invigorating aroma therapy (a calming pre-session) then a pair of gentle but strong hands to relieve your body of aches, stress and tiredness from your head, shoulders, all the way down to your feet.
As you wake up from your session, you will be refreshed and in your best mental and physical state for anything.
Consider treating yourself and your beau today or this weekend to a Valentines Retreat with a good massage with us!
